Log-in to HP-PPM
1. Enter HPPPM in browser URL address
2. Enter Network Username & Password Access the Time Sheet Entry Application
If log-in fails to resolve try http:/hppm.int/
If unable to log-in send request for Time Sheet Entry access to HP-PPM Support
Establish your Dashboard (Not necessary to enter a time sheet)
1. If you don't have a Dashoard titled Project Team Member click the
Personalize button in the upper right corner.
2. Click the Add Preconfigured Page button
3. Select "Project Team Member
4. Select the pencil icon on each of the three portlets and set desired
filters, sorts and configuration.
5. Select Done when complete Portlets provide quick access to your information.
1. All Project Task entry must be done through time sheets vs portlets
2. The Maximize link on the botttom right corner of the portlet may provide
addiitonal information and will contain an export to excel button
Create a Time Sheet
1. Click the Create New Time Sheet button on the TMG - My Time Sheets portlet
or Create a Time Sheet in the Time Management, Time Sheets section of the
left NavBar.
2. Select the weekly period
3. Click Create button Create the Weekly Time Sheet
1. You can only enter one time sheet per week
2. The work week starts on Saturday and ends on Friday
3. All tasks from all projects worked will be added to the same time sheet.
4. If you already have a time sheet for the period, a warning will be displayed
with a link to the existing time sheet
5. You can copy a time sheet to a new period from within the time sheet
(the hours are dropped)
Add Tasks to Time Sheet
1. Click Add Items button (bottom left corner).
2. Suggested Items tab should list all tasks scheduled or late and open which
are assigned to you.
3. Check the tasks to add, click Add
4. Find Tasks - Select Add Task under Add Items button
5. Select Tasks under Task Type
6. Select Project Name and \ or your name in Project Assigned Resource
7. Select the Menu to apply the filter (s) and list the tasks
8. Select Add
Finding tasks on which you are working. The Suggested Items tab will offer all tasks which are assigned to you and are
scheduled for the week being entered. .
1. You can only add tasks that already exist in the project work plan.
You cannot create a new task.
2. You can select tasks from any projects that are open, or closed
no earlier than the last week.
3. You do not have to be assigned to a task, or even the project, to log time
against the task.
Post Hours worked on tasks
1. Enter time in no less than .25 hour increments, by task, on the day the hours
are worked
2. Enter hours daily to insure accurate representation
3. SAVE your time sheet.
Enter time actaully spent on project work. the goal is to accurately evaluate the time and cost involved in development efforts.
1. Actual hours are reflected on the work plan and in the resource pool when
the time sheet is saved.
2. If you enter more hours than are scheduled, your assignment will be set to
100% Complete for the task. If you have not finished your work, be sure to
update the Estimated Remaining Effort beforer saving (see last step)
Adjust Remaining Effort & Submit Time Sheet
1. After entering your hours for Friday, select the Project Fields tab
2. If the Estimated Remaining Effort is significantly wrong, adjust either the
% Complete or the Estimated Remaining Effort value based on your best
guess. (See Add Task Notes below)
3. Select Submit and your time sheet will be automatically approved
Weekly Time Sheet submittal is due at close of business on Fridays for Project Status Reporting.
1. You will receive a warning on Saving your time sheet if any task which you
entered time against has 0.0 Remaining Effort. The Warning will indicate the
task will be automatically closed. If you’re not really finished, please go the
Project Fields tab and adjust the Estimated Remaining Effort to your best
guess.
Add Task or Time Sheet Notes
1. To add a note to the time sheet select the Add Notes button on the bottom
left corner.
2. To add a note to a specific task entry check the task box and then select the
Line Details button and select the Notes tab.
To communicate changes in tasks or information about the time sheet to the Project and Resource Managers
1. You must always set the Estimated Remaining Effort to 0.0 and % Complete
to 100 when you have completed your part of the task assignment.
2. If you change the Estimated Remaining Effort because you are not yet finished
but the value is 0.0, or you are finished with your part of the task and the value
is still significant (greater than 10 hours), you should always add a task note
and advise your project manager.
